Before working at Refresh, what was the most unusual or interesting job you’ve ever had?
The most interesting job I have ever has would have to be playing Golf professionally. I used to compete mainly within the UK and Ireland, but occasionally I would travel further.
How did you first learn about Refresh?
When the recruitment agency that I was with got in touch about a vacancy at Refresh - which I applied for and was successful.
What does your role involve at Refresh Water?
I travel up and down the UK servicing, sanitising and maintaining our water coolers, water fountains and hot water boilers, wherever I am required. No two days are the same.
How has working at Refresh helped you in your career development?
A large part of my role involves a lot of trust, I receive my jobs on a monthly basis and then have to come up with the most cost effective and time saving method of getting these completed- the trust that I am given has definitely helped me develop my time management and organisational skills.
What are 3 words to describe Refresh Water?
Customer-driven, Honest and close-knit.
What do you like most about working at Refresh Water?
Again, I love the trust and freedom that my role gives me (Unless I get stuck on the M42 ☺)
What is your proudest moment at Refresh Water?
I enjoy troubleshooting equipment faults and getting them resolved as quickly and efficiently as possible for customers.
One in particular that I will always remember was a hot water boiler at a customer based in slough. I had never attended this certain model of boiler previously and at the time we had never had any similar faults reported. I had to diagnose the fault, and report back.
It turned out to be an internal filler tube, which wasn’t a part that I carried on my van. It was couriered down to me overnight and I attended and fixed the boiler the next day.
